Sonoma Escape into the woods is a hidden getaway that was crafted by the owners. The design entrepreneur Kristina O’Neal and her husband Adam Gordon. Together they were able to construct their modern dream home.

This home looks like a mirage, however once you get closer it becomes a dream home, covered in wild grass. Then, you see two gigantic glass and steel hydraulic windows the will lead you to the interior of Kristina O’Neal and Adam Gordon.

As if this wasn’t enough you also have an amusing welcoming of two picture-perfect miniature donkeys. Their names are Sugi and Jinx, and according to Kristina, they are their great loves. Talking a little bit more about the owners, Kristina is a founding partner of AvroKO, that is known for amazing hospitality projects around the world. Adam Gordon is a developer of innovative real estate projects.

“We agreed to experience the land—the seasons, the smells and light and the wildlife—before embarking,” Gordon explains. They were the responsible for this interior design of this home, because they had the experience. “The house is 28 feet wide, so we are never more than 14 feet from a window,”.

One important thing you need to know about this home is that it follows the principle of living lightly, which means that this home has only low-key furniture. The dining table is made from a Knoll base from eBay, with a custom rosewood top, for example. Besides there is also unvarnished stools by woodworker Caleb Woodard, that add texture and warmth to this Sonoma Escape.

The primary bedroom (on the left) has a unique piece of art by O’Neal above the Boffi bed. You can also see a fireplace in corner. The main bathroom (on the right), has a Boy tub, a Isamu Noguchi floor lamp, and a textile artwork by Kristina O’Neal.

We conclude our article with this, “The ranch gives us a place where it’s impossible not to live this way,” says O’Neal. Gordon adds, “It has been a particular, unshakable fantasy, and we keep falling deeper into the spell.”
