Zaha Hadid Architects has the construction of three new metro stations on going. The names will be The Teatralna, Tsentalna, and Muzeina. These three stations will connect commercial, residential, cultural, and academic institutions in Dnipro’s eastern districts.
The new metro line has a clear purpose in mind, reduce traffic congestion in central Dnipro. Besides that, it will provide the area’s some public attractions, for example, beaches, parks, and recreational facilities. Something important to know about these project is that the interiors are designed to facilitate circulation. All in a intuitive way, because they want to create an experience to ensure safety and comfortable transport.
The design of the stations is a clear tribute to the rich crafstmanship of the city. But not only that, they are honnoring the metallurgy and manufacturing through the welded steel entrance pavillions.
Each pavillion is located wihtin a public plaza that has a landmark, which facilitates the recognition of the metro’s entrance.
All of Dnipro’s three stations will provide passengers with complete services in 2025. Zaha Hadid Architects also have another project in hand. They will upgrade the Vilnius railway station, because they want to prioritize pedestrians and cyclists.
