The quote “life is like a melody”, featured in many popular songs, might definitely have been an inspiration for the Shanghai-based SEER Design Studio while creating the project for “The House of Philharmonic”. An interior full of modern furniture pieces and unique accessories.
The designer and founder of SEER Design, Han Xiaoxin specializes in eclectic design and the mix between modern and traditional. She often wanders between ‘urban life and art’, discovering and documenting experiences and applying them to interior design. The Studios’ works are always full of expression, keen to explore the connection between art and life present in everyone’s daily routines.
“The House of Philharmonic”
“The House of Philharmonic” is the designers’ interpretation of a house perceived as a philharmonic. During the early morning, the bedroom is the concert hall, but the living room takes the stage in the afternoon. Evenings are for the kitchen and dining room, that present a sense of unity and sophistication, like a beautiful song.
The Master bedroom is filled with the artistic collision of classic and modern. It’s elegant and calm, but with a glimpse of art. ACH Collection Michel Bowl, placed on the nightstand, is a tribute to ancient Greek sculptures. Made from hand-painted ceramics, this artsy piece adds a refined and classical touch to this modern bedroom.
The Center table is decorated with amazing unique accessories, such as a flower vase by the Australian designer brand Dinosaur Design and ACH Collection Oskar Tray. This ceramic item is more than a stylish homeware piece. It holds a high-decorative function, inspired by the Bauhaus movement.
Located in a vibrant area of the Yuzhong District in Chongqing, the house embraces elegance and class. With its stylish design and unique accessories, present throughout the whole space. The melody and music notes are visible in every corner of the house.
Music enthusiasts’ daily routine is probably very similar to this: a collector’s edition Grammy gramophone gently spinning. Then waking up to the elegant saxophone melodies of KENNY G, wrapping oneself in music. And having a relaxing and romantic day.
Gold Accents
The living room presents a mixture of old and new, with the burgundy classical Zanatta marble center table. Also the modern black and white funky armchair. Baxter sofa adds artistic curves that seem to flow through space.
Artistic yet unobtrusive, elegant with a touch of chic, it brings a sense of sophistication. And at the same time gives a sense of warmth and introspection to the home. With all this class, gramophone, comfy sofas, welcoming colors, and a collection of greatest albums, this house indeed feels like a house of music and love!
The gold accents in the living room also match another ACH piece, an Avocado Table Lamp. Inspired by the most popular and chic fruit in the world, this lamp summarizes the Pop Art concept, distilling the beauty out of the popular.
The kitchen and dining room are kept in the same color palette as the rest of the house, with unique accessories of gold, that bring the luxury touch to the design. The designer wanted the colors to be more than just a simple grey, but rather to create a coherent rhythmic jump in the space through the contrasting colors of indigo and cherry red.
